What Is A Toner Cartridge?

By Bradd Alan

It doesn't matter if you buy the originally made equipment or the recycled toner cartridges, both of it have a small life span. Whether you use the printers regularly or it is kept ideal for a long time. The cartridge of the laser toner will get worn out and become a waste within 2 years of purchase. There is a reason behind the spoilage of the cartridges. Practically you can only understand the reason behind the spoilage of the cartridge if you understand how the cartridge is used. The toner cartridge is a device that is used to print the document using the printer.

The work of a toner is the same as a printer ink that is put in the ink cartridge. Both the regular cartridge and the toner cartridge are made to do the same thing but there are a lot of differences in them. A toner cartridge is prepared using carbon and the plastic as the main constituents. The working of the toner cartridge is pretty simple. When the heating drum of the printer crosses over the toner the constituent of the cartridge combine together, melts down and gets imprinted on the paper.

There are a lot of efforts put behind the making of the printer toner cartridges. This makes the complex printing in the past a simple one in the present situation. The growth of the modern technology was the only reason behind the rise of the toner cartridges. It is prepared with the combination of various industrial polymers and carbon atoms where used to hold the polymers strongly. This allows the printer to make small particle sizes. The plastic particles of the toner cartridges help the printer to produce particle in higher resolution too.

In the preparation of a single cartridge lots of fossil fuels are used, which results in the emission of lots of greenhouse gases. Recycling does not involve the processes involved in the production of new cartridges. So it prevents the production of greenhouse gases. Other benefits of recycling cartridges are it conserves other resources i.e. timber, aluminium and other resources used while manufacturing of the cartridge.

The toner cartridge is very sensitive, when it is exposed to any of the following i.e. sunlight, moisture or heat, it gets affected by it and gets destroyed. For example when the toner is exposed to moisture it gets soft and wet which is not good for printing. Another major reason that affects the toner cartridges is the direct exposure to the sunlight.

The recycled cartridges are not only cost you less but you also get quality printing. The recycled cartridge reduces most of the printing costs. It also holds more ink compared to the traditional cartridges. Moreover the quality of printing you get is the same as you find from the regular printers. With the increased importance given to the recycling of cartridges, companies also offer to give money in turn of your used cartridges. The more used cartridges you send to the remanufacturers the more money you get from them, some of it is also donated to certain charities.

Recycling of cartridges also conserves land; the cartridges are dumped in land filled sites. With the increase in the number of cartridges there is more need of land to dispose them.

If used simultaneously one after another while keeping the cartridges at proper condition. The cartridges can last for ever. Moreover the cartridge also work well with the cheap inks available, only advice if you use the cheap ink for printing then make sure you clean the cartridge at regular intervals. This might help you to increase the life of the toner cartridge.
