By Daniel Kennedy

It seems that you are in the market right now for a computer, now that you have started your own business. In starting your own business you have thought of the advantages of being organized and automating standard tasks, and so you are looking for a decent business PC. However, prior to purchasing one, it may be a good idea to read this first.

A good first thing to do is to prepare a checklist to use in your search. Many people nowadays do not use checklists, finding them too primitive and simple. But the truth is, that they are indispensable in making sure that have all the things you need to know and done at a very simple glance. You should not underestimate the usefulness of a simple checklist.

To start off your list, figure out what you will be doing on a regular day to day basis. Determine if you will be doing purely communications and clerical work, business calculations and such or even photo editing and video work. Once you are able to do this, you will get a general idea of how much power you need in your computer and how much you will need to spend.

Should after your task inventory you find that you need the computer for almost all of the tasks above, then you should go for a mid range one. A mid range business computer will usually have an i5 processor running at 8 to 16 gb of Random Access Memory with around a 500 gb hard drive. This kind of unit will set you back around five hundred or more dollars.

If data entry and simple clerical functions is all that you will really need the computer for however, then all you will need is a simple entry level computer. These are competitively priced at around three hundred dollars only, as there is massive competition between manufacturers for these types of machines.

It is also a good idea to buy a computer from a brand that is reliable. It must have proven unit longevity in the market, at least three years or more and also a proven track record. The track record in this instance meaning good customer service relations and operations as well as good after sales services.

Never is it also a good idea to think of playing games on your business computer, despite its ability to be able to do so. This is because games will have their own settings and default adjustments which can affect the overall running of your machine when it needs a job done. It is always good to buy a separate computer for games if you do plan on playing.

In short these are the basic things you should mull over when getting a new business computer. There are of course other things you should consider, but suffice to say these covered in this article will provide a good foundation for you to start on.
