Rise of the Smartphone

By Karen Carter

The fact is that smartphones, tablets and other wireless devices are nearly everywhere now a days. Even in developing nations that don't have reliable electricity or running water, people have them. Our world is more connected today than at any time in human history. And those connections are growing deeper every day.

The iPhone 4 is at the top of the list, it comes with 32GB of memory it is one of the sleekest phones on the market. It comes from Apple with great usability and technology. It has a High-res touch screen and has an all-new 8 MP camera to make sure you never miss a moment! It operates on iOS 5 and comes with a range of apps you can download from the App Store to personalize your Smartphone experience. It even comes with the much talked about Siri which acts as a voice recognized personal assistant on your phone. It can send texts and messages, locate contacts and even tell you tomorrow's weather. The features of this phone are endless.

The HTC Wildfire S is next in line. It is a great affordable and compact Smartphone, it has a smooth touch screen display and pinch and zoom feature that makes viewing websites, photos and maps much easier. It comes with pre loaded apps and the Android Marketplace where you have a pick of 160,000 more! It comes with a neat 5MP camera and a media player on board. It is the perfect phone for those looking for a compact Smartphone.

If you are looking for a high quality and responsive touchscreen on which to compose your messages rather than a physical keypad then the iPhone 4S is the handset for you. The 3.5 inch screen means that the device is not as large as many modern phones but still big enough to include large keys and an impressive predictive text system. The improved notifications system that is used on this phone also alerts you the moment you receive new mail meaning you will never miss that important email.

All modern smartphones offer good email features but the BlackBerry Bold 9900 really is outstanding in this area. If a BlackBerry takes your fancy but you do not want to break the bank then the Curve 9360 is a great option while the iPhone 4S is the phone of choice for those not looking for a physical keyboard.
