This is usually used for creating a reference frequency that is stable within a given temperature range. It supports numerous power supply voltages and creates temperature stability. It is regarded as to have excellent performance over phase noise and could be suitable for wireless module applications and the like.

The circuit which TCXO Reference Oscillator is made up of greatly impact its sustainability. It takes signal voltage and continues to amplify to the desired state. This is also determined by the size of this crystal.

However, it is also possible for the external atmosphere to influence aging amicably.

If there are fluctuations in short term frequencies, it could result to some damages. Any shock may bring about change because of sensitivity issues. Massive shocks can result to tearing off of the crystals and causing cracks. It is as a result of these effects that a permanent change of the frequency may be noticed over some time.

These crystals are sensitive to radiation and more care should be taken into place. Sweeping reduces this and can be done by heating so that the crystals attain the desired degree Celsius. Through this, they become slow and will not respond to ionizing radiation.

Failures could be brought about by aging, corrosion and bonding. There are no inherent failure mechanisms and hence, the crystals can operate for a long time. The surrounding will influence the manner in which these crystals will perform.

The circuits should be properly designed so that they do not exceed on an overtone. This may cause severe damages and cause impediment on the crystals. The quality of these gadgets should be checked properly so as to avert any faults and let them work in the most desirable manner as required.
