Sometimes Microsoft Outlook starts acting a bit funny and you remain unable to send or receive your emails properly. Make sure that your antivirus program is updated and it is not causing any hindrance with the Outlook program. Sometimes the email scanning feature of the antivirus program might cause a bit of problem and disables the sending or receiving of emails without any notice. Just change those settings and disable this particular feature and your program should run perfectly.

You can easily disable this feature of the antivirus program by going into the settings. When you are done, click on save changes and then if prompted restart your PC. Now, open the program and check if the problem is solved or not.

Another feature that might hinder the performance of Outlook is the Windows Firewall. Although Windows Firewall must be enabled but in some cases you need to disable this feature as well if you want to receive and send emails without any problem. You could change the setting by simply navigating to control panel. Make sure that you are logged in to your computer as the administrator because otherwise you can't change such settings on the computer.

At times loss of connection to the internet could likewise cause such issues. If the system glitch is transitory then it could be settled all alone however in the event when you confront the same issue over and over then it implies you must look for expert help. Check if all the links are working accurately and if still any issues, you should ask the system administration to deal with this for you.
