Iphone Tips And Tricks For A New Generation

By Jared Escuala

The Apple iPhone has been popular for some time. You may not realize why that is, until you have an iPhone of your own. The iPhone is a wonderful way for you to communicate with others, but it does so much more. Here are just a few tricks and tips to unlock all of the magic in your new iPhone.

Did you know that you can replace the default icons with others that you would prefer? All you have to do is choose an icon that you do not use very often, then click on it to bring it up. Click on "edit" and you will see your options. Pick an icon you prefer and hold it down, or click and drag.

Do you enjoy listening to music on your iPhone? You can improve the sound quality by changing the levels on the sound check feature or using the speed feature. You should adjust these features before you listen to music, podcasts or audio-books. You will find that these features are very similar to the ones available on iPods.

Try talking your data entry instead of typing it. iPhones with the newest operating system give you the ability to do this. When you see the virtual keyboard, look for the small microphone button to the left of the space bar. When you click that, you can speak what you want to type. You'll be surprised at how well, and how quickly, it works!

If you do not want to worry about capitalization when you are typing a text message to a friend, you can turn on the auto-capitalization feature. This feature is found under Settings-General-Keyboard and is the first option when you open up this section. This will help you save a lot of time and improve your grammar through texts.

Take screenshots of websites or apps that you want to have later. Just tap the Sleep button while you are holding down the Home button. Doing so creates a screenshot of whatever you are currently viewing so that you can retrieve it from your Camera Roll later on in the day or week.

If you are looking for wi-fi for your laptop, you can turn your iPhone into a personal hotspot. This basically turns your 3G signal into wi-fi that any of your other digital devices can use to log onto the Internet. Some carriers charge for this ability, so look into it before trying.

Sometimes your iPhone gets flummoxed by the position you're holding it in and switches back and forth from portrait to landscape over and over. You don't have to shift position to counteract this problem. You can easily lock your iPhone into portrait-only mode. Just open the Home menu and swipe the recent app list from left to right. This gets you to the music controls, but the last icon in the list is the screen orientation lock.

Now, after taking in the above information, you should be an expert on where to locate all the new and latest iphone apps that are on the market. Use the tips and tricks you learned here to help you understand how to find and better use those apps on your iphone.
