Selecting The Best Cell Phones

By Robert Velasquez

When choosing cell phones it is important to keep in mind that you will most likely own yours for at least the next year to two years. There are more options than ever before, and some might mean more to you than others. Be sure to research features and models carefully before settling on your phone.

Aside from selecting a carrier, one of your most important decisions when it comes to a cell phone is whether you will go with a smart phone or a basic phone. Both types of phones will allow the user to make calls, at the very least. The great consideration might be the differences in the cost of monthly plans for each phone. However, keeping in mind that these differences exist, the user must take a look at the difference between the two and be sure that he selects the one that is right for his lifestyle and budget.

As one might expect, the smartphone allows the user to do much more than what he would be able to do on a basic mobile phone. The smartphone user is able to regularly access the Internet and certain applications that are Internet dependent. The smartphone typically has features that until recently were only found on a computer or digital assistant, such as the ability to send and receive email and to create, edit and email documents.

Many users are concerned about the look of their new phone. The look varies from phone to phone, of course. Typically, smart phones have a touch tone screen. There are still some flip phones out on the market, but they are not nearly as popular as they once were.

The qwerty keyboard can be a big deal for some. This is the computer-like layout of the keyboard on a phone. Some people can not live without it. Some people could not care less. Be sure you know which group you belong to before you go shopping.

Look at reviews and compare phone models. There are a number of reviews on the Internet and there are more added every day. Also, check consumer magazines for recent review of phones before deciding on a model to purchase. Do not purchase a phone based on color, as there are so many different cases and covers now available, the color of the actual phone will not matter much.

A cell phone is a large purchase, possibly one of the largest of the year. Be sure that you take the time to decide on what you want, what it will cost, and what you can afford. Read reviews and collect opinions before making your final choice.
